Ordinary Day
Its all your state of mind.
This will probably be my last “big run” before Black Diamond. Ran from Logboom to the tunnel just at Wayne Golf Course and back. At first I thought about just going to Starbucks and back, but the legs just felt too good…so, I did the next thing that came to my mind…I just kept running.
Can I run a 10K after I’ve just swam a 1.5K, and biked a 40K.
I know why they put the distances in K’s instead of Miles…its so us folks like me who don’t know how far a K is won’t know exactly how far they have to go before they finish. I do know it sounds far…

I like when you get to tell your race stories after the race…in your case this is how it will go:
Fan of Peter: So, how did your triathlon go this past weekend?
Peter: Really well, I cramped a little in the bike at mile 9, but Gu;ed through it, when I got to the run my legs felt like jelly but around mile 2 or 2 and a half….I was moving pretty good. I was just happy to finish.
Fan of Peter: So, you ,,,like…bike, then swim then run right?
Peter: No, you swim, bike , then run….
Fan of Peter: I wonder why you swim first….do you ever wonder why?
Peter: It’s quite simple…they don’t want people to drown after riding 40 kilometers, and then running 10 kilometers!
Fan of Peter: How far did you swim?
Peter: 1.5 kilometers
Fan of Peter: how far is that in like feet?
Peter: Its just over 8 tenths of a mile!
FOP: Then you have to get on your bike and ride it how far?
Peter: 40 kilometers….which is like around 24 miles or so….
FOP: Then you take a lunch break and have to run, right?!
Peter: No, you get off your bike and then run about, well…a 10k
FOP: thats like almost 3 miles then?
Peter: No, it’s more like 6.2 miles.
FOP: OM GOSH!!! I can not even imagine doing that…and you do it all in one day?
Peter: Yep, all in one day, or in my case I rock it out in about 3 or 3 and a half hours….maybe less. It’s what I do!!!!!!
Sorry Peter…I got a little carried away there. Good luck with the training, and story time!
