The tattoo won’t come this year

I believe in all of those “sayings” -

- How we do anything is how we do everything.

- We aren’t given anything we can’t handle.

- Everything happens for a reason.

- There are no accidents.

So, as I sit here, one day before surgery on my clavicle to pin it back together, I’m faced with the realization that, everything does happen for a reason.

Showing my son how to do wheelies on my mountain bike and ending up eating pavement, (thank goodness for helmets) and ending up with a broken clavicle happened for a reason.  Maybe it was my bodies way of telling me something, or maybe it was my bodies way of just slowing me down for a little while, I’m not sure.

Whatever the reason, I’ll accept it, and move on.  I can only imagine this is my bodies way of telling me that next time, I’ll be better prepared.

So, this year, the tattoo won’t happen.

I had no idea you were hurt. I am so sorry. You must be frustrated. But I agree with you, it happened for a reason and you’ll follow this new course for a bit, perhaps in part it may be more scenic and enjoyable, perhaps it will heighten your enjoyment when you return to training. Who knows. Enjoy each day and keep us up to date, know that we will be thinking of you! :)

P.S. Hope your surgery and recovery go very smoothly.
